Listing Description

The Worcester Regional Food Hub (WRFH) is a nonprofit dedicated to its mission of bolstering the regional food system, promoting local farms and food entrepreneurs, and alleviating food insecurity in Central Massachusetts.

Its operations provide technical assistance to farmers and food entrepreneurs to assist them with growing their businesses in the region. For local farmers, the WRFH provides access to a robust aggregation and distribution network, allowing them to sell local and nutritious food to institutional partners. For local food entrepreneurs, the WRFH offers educational programming to take their businesses from concept to reality, by offering classes on accounting, business planning, restaurant management, wholesale distribution, menu planning, etc. Also, the WRFH offers access to a shared kitchen at an affordable rate, for farmers and food entrepreneurs to create value-added products from locally sourced food.

The outcomes the WRFH expects from its programs are to highlight local farmers and food entrepreneurs as key contributors to strengthening the regional food system by uplifting individuals within the communities we serve and addressing the specific needs tied to food insecurity.
