Listing Description

The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) works toward a future where an equitable food and agricultural economy has created empowered, interdependent communities with shared mutual goals, within our northern Vermont region, that are socially and economically thriving, and contribute to a vital ecological future.

CAE is in its function a food system capacity building organization that includes extensive community programs supporting local food sovereignty, business resource programs including membership in VT Farm Viability and Vermont’s Specialty Food Association, management of the Vermont Farm Fund, and three food hub enterprises including: (1) the Vermont Food Venture Center, a shared use commercial kitchen; (2) Just Cut, a minimally processed product line of locally sourced farm produce; and (3) Farm Connex, a DTS food delivery service moving over $12 Million in farm and food produce to retailers and food banks annually.
