(CEI) is a Community Development Financial Institution that works to build a just, vibrant and climate-resilient future for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably.

CEI offers a wide range of assistance to emerging and existing business owners in Maine. Through free, confidential one-on-one consultation, training, workshops, seminars, peer networks and other services, CEI supports entrepreneurs at every stage of their business. We also offer business and project financing for a wide range of purposes including working capital, equipment purchases, facilities expansion, and construction. CEI is committed to reducing the wealth gap and building a more equitable economy by focusing our services on people and communities unable to access financing from traditional sources.
